All-solid-state batteries are gaining traction as the next generation of high-performance storage batteries.
One of the organizations driving research and development of all-solid-state batteries in Japan is the Consortium for Lithium Ion Battery Technology and Evaluation Center (LIBTEC), a technology research association.
LIBTEC is promoting the establishment of basic technologies and the development of evaluation methods for the practicalization of all-solid-state batteries through industry-academia collaboration. LIBTEC's efforts are contributing to the performance improvement and early commercialization of all-solid-state batteries.
In this column, we will give a brief overview of LIBTEC's development of all-solid-state batteries and its goals.
